Centre Point’s New Flagship Restaurant, VIVI

VIVI is the new flagship restaurant within the redeveloped Centre Point tower. Taking inspiration from the iconic history and resurrection of the tower in 1966, VIVI stands for 66 in roman numerals. Following the tower’s development, VIVI has also creatively reimagined a range of British classics.

VIVI is an all-day British brasserie and bar serving long weekend brunches to pre & post theatre dinners. VIVI’s menus offer something deliciously different complemented by an extensive cocktail list.

In tune with the 60s theme VIVI’s colour scheme is blush pink with hues of teal, finished with polished wood and chic bronze details, a true revival of the sixties.

The Bar at VIVI is a destination cocktail bar serving delicious, 60s inspired cocktails. Each Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening you can find the resident DJs bringing a vibrant atmosphere to the venue.

Impressed by the innovative cocktail list, my first choice of cocktail was The Seifert. The ultimate girl's drink with Brockmans Gin, rosebud syrup, pink grapefruit, lime and cotton candy. A fun and interactive drink that is worth a try and a photo. Inspiration for this unique and gorgeous drink came from the innovative Richard Seifert, the architect who designed the Centre Point.

My partner chose the Wild Honey on the Beach cocktail, created with Bulleit Rye whiskey, Pimento Dram, lemon thyme infused honey & lemon. I would describe it as a combination of an old fashioned and summer, a true celebration of the Beach Boys’ big hit ‘Wild Honey’, of which it is named from.

To go along with our fabulous drinks we ordered Edamame salted beans and Cauliflower cheese croquettes. Small bites to start us off the VIVI way.

The menu boasts an appetising variety of fish and meat dishes, as well as vegetarian. For starters we were recommended the Burrata & Heritage Tomatoes with toasted almonds and basil and the Seabass Ceviche with cucumber, chilli and coriander. Both boasting fresh zesty flavours.

For mains we chose to explore the sea, kicking off with the daring Tuna Steak served with courgette, basil and Datterini tomatoes. Secondly, the Seared & Smoked Salmon with fennel & apple slaw, horseradish and crème fraîche.

Seeking a new cocktail to complement our mains we opted for the Rolling in Brown Sugar cocktail with Moët & Chandon Champagne, Havana Club rum, Martini Bianco and jasmine brown sugar. This cocktail took inspiration from 'The Rolling Stones’ album ‘Sticky Fingers’ and one of their hits ‘Brown Sugar’.

My Partner was recommended The Weeping Guitar with Gin Mare, Italicus Rosolio di Bergamotto, cucumber, elderflower, lime and tonic water influenced from The Beatles’ hit song ‘While my Guitar Gently Weeps’.

VIVI’s culinary creativity is found throughout the menu. We ended our feast with a show stopper, the Toffee Apple served with yoghurt ice cream. Breaking through the apple's outer layer introduced us to a fun and delicious desert. Adding innovation VIVI's Rum Baba is a tribute to Rum offered with vanilla ice cream, confit orange and Chantilly. To be ordered only if over drinking age.

VIVI is a new restaurant delivered through the Centre Point's redevelopment. One of London’s most beautiful openings of 2019, a lively British brasserie located in the heart of London’s Soho. Stay tuned as VIVI will become known for serving fresh flavourful dishes with a fabulous selection of signature cocktails.
