The Gastropub of St.Pancras Station

Located on the upper level of St. Pancras station, with sight of trains arriving and departing to and from Paris is the British gastropub, the Betjeman Arms. A contemporary pub with an indoor terrace and bar situated under the great arching roof of the station. Visitors can indulge in the station's 1920’s nostalgia and iconic architectural features.

You can enjoy a mix of traditional British favourites and explore the menu serving breakfast, lunch and dinner catering to all travellers. Enhance your meal with a glass of something smooth from the wine list or grab a pint. The Betjeman Arms comes complete with The Boardroom, The Grand Terrace, The Pantry and The Dining Room all available as events spaces.

Train stations throughout history have been known as great meeting points. From the terrace you can appreciate the 9-metre-high, 20-tonne bronze sculpture, the Meeting Place. Designed by the British artist Paul Day to evoke the romance of travel through the depiction of a couple locked in an amorous embrace.

St. Pancras station holds a magical spot in my heart, as in 2015, I shared a moment with a man before departing on my travels. Our love was sparked and a year and a half later we travelled to Paris via St. Pancras station where he proposed.

Reminiscing of our own past, my husband and I dined at the Betjeman Arms and enjoyed a three course dinner. For starters we opted for a delicious whole baked Camembert with rosemary and toasted soldiers. A great sharing plate. We were recommended the cauliflower cheese croquettes with sweet tomato jam; an unusual and unique combination. To complement our feast we paired our meal with the La Colonia Malbec, a full body red wine. A dark, peppery and oaky flavour with good acidity and a solid option for our main, steak.

Continuing our sharing stride we opted for the Aberdeen Angus Cote de Bouef sharing 26 oz. steak with fries, triple cooked chips and garlic mushrooms. The steak was cooked to our liking and was impressive in both size and flavour. Curious we tried the creamed leeks with toasted seeds which surprisingly tasted very similar to mac and cheese.

There is no feast with no sweet ending. To carry our British meal we kept with the theme and ordered a sticky toffee pudding; a classic pub favourite. The dessert was warm and full of flavour bringing our dinner to a close.
